The 2 mad scientists had a play date last Sunday afternoon. Our mission was to mix dye randomly (ok, almost randomly) to see what new colours we came up with. What fun. We took Blue and Gold and mixed a bit of this and a bit of that. Then we added red just for fun.
Being a mad scientist and a rational person that can create colour recipes is like swapping between Jekyll and Hyde roles. Lisette and I complement each other. I’m much better at being Jekyll and she is Hyde or is it the other way around? There is a reason why I am known as the Mad Scientist number 1. She is logic and reason to my craziness.
Here are some of the photos from our afternoon. The first photo is of what our dye room looked like after we had finished throwing dye at fabric. If you look closely our new range, “Moroccan Spices” is starting to appear – see the middle row of containers.
How about these results? Looking good? I see the beginnings of the new range. The fabric is even hanging over a rustic fence and traditional green farm gate to prove that we indeed live in Africa. What do you think?
Now it’s time for the mad scientists to be reigned in and the detailed analyst to come out and document the new recipes so that we can reproduce these colours.
In the meantime… I wonder what the mad scientists are cooking up next. I heard rumours of greys and creams…. .Guess they say, watch this space and all will be revealed soon.
